How to read a Binance HODLer Airdrops announcement, line by line
You don't read a HODLer notice to sign up. You read it to check yourself: were your BNB in the right place, is your country allowed, and when do the tokens land. One real notice, taken apart.
A Binance HODLer Airdrops announcement is not an invitation. By the time it is published, the window that decides who gets tokens may already be running or even over: in round 53, taken apart below, the notice is dated a couple of days after the range ended. When that happens the "subscription period" is a look-back range, and nothing you do after reading it changes this round.
That makes the notice something to check yourself against rather than act on. Were your BNB in the right products on those days? Is your country outside the restricted list? When, and into which account, will the tokens arrive? Below, one real announcement — round 53, Yield Basis (YB), October 2025 — taken apart line by line.
Put the four dates in order first
The English version of the YB notice gives four points in time, all in UTC. In the order they actually happen:
- Subscription period: 2025-10-09 00:00 to 2025-10-11 23:59 (UTC). BNB subscribed to Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields during this range is what counts.
- Announcement: the page is dated 2025-10-14, a couple of days after the range ended.
- YB deposits open: 2025-10-14, 12:00 (UTC).
- Spot listing: 2025-10-15 11:00 (UTC), with USDT, USDC, BNB, FDUSD and TRY pairs. The airdrop lands in Spot Accounts at least one hour before trading starts.
Items 1 and 2 run backwards, and that is exactly what the word "Retroactive" in the headline means. Subscribing to Flexible after you see the notice puts you in the running for a future round, not this one.
The notice also says the HODLer Airdrops information "is estimated to be available in 24 hours". That refers to the project appearing on the HODLer Airdrops page. The line that tells you when to look in your wallet is the one about distribution at least one hour before trading.
The same notice, three time zones
Binance localises the time zone along with the language. The English page uses UTC; the Chinese and Russian pages state the same window in their own local offsets.
| Version | Offset used | End of the subscription period, as written |
|---|---|---|
| English | UTC | 2025-10-11 23:59 |
| Chinese | UTC+8 | 12 October 2025, 07:59 |
| Russian | UTC+3 | 12.10.2025 02:59 |
All three are the same minute. The trouble starts with screenshots and reposts: a Chinese-language summary saying the window "ends on the 12th" is right for UTC+8 and a day late for anyone reading in UTC. In New York, the UTC close fell on the evening of 11 October local time. Check the bracket after the date before you check the date.
What "subscribed their BNB" covers
The YB notice names two product families: Simple Earn (Flexible and/or Locked) and On-Chain Yields. Both are links on the page.
On-Chain Yields was not always there. The December 2024 Movement (MOVE) notice listed Simple Earn only, so an older guide can quietly leave that product out. Go by the round you are reading.
BNB Simple Earn assets used as collateral for Binance Loans (Flexible Rate) are not entitled to HODLer Airdrops rewards. Your Flexible balance still shows, so nothing looks wrong; you have to check the Loans side yourself.
Balances are measured by snapshots taken several times an hour at random, turned into an hourly average. Moving BNB out for part of the range lowers your average for exactly that part. The edge cases, including what counts as "in use", are in HODLer snapshots: which balances count, and the snapshot eligibility check walks through one position at a time.
The reward total and the 4% cap
Two rows in the "HODLer Airdrops Details" block get skimmed more than they should:
- HODLer Airdrops Token Rewards: 10,000,000 YB, 1.00% of max token supply.
- Per-user cap: User's Average BNB Holding / Total Average BNB Holding × 100% ≤ 4%.
The first is the size of the whole pot, not a per-person figure. Your share follows your average holding as a fraction of everyone's eligible holding. The 4% cap stops one very large account from taking more than that fraction. An ordinary holder will never get near it, so it is not a threshold you need to clear.
The same block lists max supply and circulating supply at listing. Neither affects whether you receive tokens. They bear on how much supply reaches the market later, which is a separate question.
Listing time, the Seed Tag and the Alpha sentence
Listing and pairs. Spot trading opened at 11:00 UTC on 15 October. Tokens arrive at least an hour early, but they just sit there until the market opens.
Seed Tag. The notice says the Seed Tag applies to YB. It is a label Binance puts on some new tokens, with extra trading rules attached. The words are linked in the notice, and the linked page is where the actual requirements live.
Alpha. YB traded on Binance Alpha first, and the notice says it would no longer be shown on Alpha once spot trading opened. Same token, different place in the app before and after the listing.
At the very top, in bold, the notice asks you to do your own research before trading the token outside Binance to avoid scams. Any "early claim" link or "airdrop portal" that shows up around listing day is not in the announcement, and HODLer has no claim button at all. Fake airdrops and fake support staff covers the usual approaches.
Restricted regions and verification, every single round
Near the end sits the eligibility paragraph. Users must have completed account verification, and users from a list of jurisdictions are not eligible. For YB that list included the United States and its territories, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Japan and Hong Kong, among others.
The list is written into each notice rather than kept as one permanent table. Having taken part before is no guarantee for the next round, so the paragraph is worth reading every time. How restrictions stack across the four lines is in How regional limits work, layer by layer; verification problems are in When verification will not go through.
The other three lines read the other way round
A HODLer notice arrives after the fact and is for reconciling. Launchpool, Megadrop and Alpha notices arrive before the fact and are for planning, so the useful fields differ.
Launchpool gives a farming period in the future. The KITE notice of late October 2025 set farming from 1 November 00:00 to 2 November 23:59 (UTC) across three pools (BNB 85%, FDUSD 5%, USDC 10% of rewards), each with its own hourly cap per user, and listing on 3 November. The questions there are which pool your assets fit, how big it is and how long it runs. The hourly split is explained in How Launchpool splits the tokens.
Megadrop keeps its key dates on the project page under the Tasks tab: participation, reward distribution and token listing, three separate times. See the Megadrop section of Do you have to claim Binance airdrops?, and Is another Binance Megadrop coming? for where that line stands.
Alpha airdrops and TGEs still need an action after the notice: confirm on the event page and spend points. How the score line is set is in Why the Alpha TGE score line moves every round.
To compare the entry conditions of all four side by side, use the four-line comparison table.
Tokens not there? Which line to check first
Say it is listing day and YB is not in your Spot wallet. Going down the notice in this order is quicker than opening a support chat:
- Has "one hour before trading" actually passed? Before that point, an empty wallet is expected.
- During the subscription period, in UTC, were your BNB in Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields, and not pledged to a Flexible Rate loan?
- Is your account's country on this round's restricted list, and is verification complete?
- With a small balance the amount can be tiny. Search the Spot wallet for YB by ticker rather than scanning the top of the asset list.
If all four check out and there is still nothing, the remaining causes, and the ones that can be fixed, are in Nine reasons people miss an airdrop.
